I you would like to be part of our wonderful woodland team, then are looking for an Assistant Manager to join us. We are looking for a very special person, who exudes warmth and friendliness, is calm, capable and genuinely thrives being among little people! As our Assistant Manager, you will help to ensure that Little Tree provides a safe environment, high quality education and emotional support for our children, aged 3-7 years, in our beautiful outdoor setting. You will be working in our small, happy team to create an enabling environment where children can develop and learn through play. You will use your existing skills, experience and passion for outdoor education to deliver a fantastic experience for our children, promote our ethos and help to make Little Tree the best it can be. We are looking for someone who has the capacity and initiative to go above and beyond, and to own and thrive in their role at Little Tree.
Hours: 2 or 3 days per week, Tuesday to Thursday, 9am – 3.30pm, plus approx. 1 hour a week staff meeting time, and planning/observation write up time. We are open for 43 weeks per year. Some flexibility can be given for school pick-ups.
Starting salary: £10 per hour, plus 5 weeks holiday pay
Start date: September 2021

Personal Specification
Essential:
· A minimum of Early Years Level 3 qualification or QTS/PGCE
· 2 years experience of working with 3-5 year olds, in an Early Years setting
· The ability and experience to lead the day when necessary.
· A sound understanding of child development and of children’s needs.
· A real passion for nature play and engaging children with the outdoors, and able to bring exciting and inspiring planning ideas to the woods.
· Sound knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework
· Good awareness and understanding of safeguarding children, as well as a basic knowledge of health, safety and hygiene.
· Thorough knowledge and experience of observation/assessment cycle
· Physical fitness (the job can be physically demanding), energy and resilience in all types of weather!
· Someone who is highly organised, who will be a supportive, dedicated and enthusiastic member of our team.
· The ability to be patient, supportive and nurturing, and to have strong relationship-building and communication skills to build a rapport with the children, parents and our team.
· The ability to use your initiative, adapt quickly to changes and be flexible.
· SENCO experience, or willingness and interest to take on the role with training.
Desirable:
· Level 4 or above early years education and childcare qualification or degree.
· Forest school or outdoor experience.
· Outdoor Paediatric first aid qualification.
· Food Hygiene qualification
· Recent and relevant safeguarding training
